Queen Anne’s Lace
This beauty grows wild alongside the roads across America. It gets its name from a legend that tells of Queen Anne of England pricking her finger with a drop of blood subsequently landing on the white lace (similar looking to the flower) in which she sewing.

Monterey
I took a jaunt out to Monterey, Tennessee ~ a small little town here in Tennessee. Besides the Imperial Hotel, there’s a train depot and they are currently trying to revitalize the downtown area.
Sunflowers
Sunflowers symbolize adoration, loyalty and longevity. Much of the meaning of sunflowersstems from its namesake, the sun itself. … Sunflowers are known for being “happy” flowers, making them the perfect gift to bring joy to someone’s (or your) day.
These sunflowers were shot in Knoxville at the Forks in the River park where they plant fields and fields of them every other year.
Barns
I’ve always wondered why barns are red. From the Farmers Almanac: “Rust was plentiful on farms and because it killed fungi and mosses that might grow on barns, and it was very effective as a sealant. It turned the mixture red in color. When paint became more available, many people chose red paint for their barns in honor of tradition.” #barns #redbarn #whyarebarnsred #redpaint #honor #tradition #countryside #farms #grassycovetn #photograpy
Crossville Dragway
I recently had the chance to go to the Crossville Dragway. It was very loud and it gave me an opportunity to try shooting at night.
The Imperial Hotel
The Imperial Hotel was built in 1909 in Monterey, Tennessee by General John T. Wilder. Located near the train depot in the center of town, it was once a thriving hotel. But times have changed and the hotel shut down in 1958 after the trains stopped passenger service. The hotel was once considered luxurious but now just sits there. It was purchased in 1997 and there have been attempts to restore it to its old glory but there currently is a lawsuit between the hotel and the town and the train depot. So it just sits and sits. Such a shame.
