Recently my photography meetup group had a photo meetup at The Children’s Museum of Oak Ridge. It’s a wonderful, hands on museum. Shooting at museums is always tricky with lighting issues and I enjoyed the challenge.
I participate in a weekly photography challenge called 52Frames. Recently the challenge was intentional color palette with extra credit for doing a flat lay. A flat lay is simply a photo of objects arranged on a flat surface, captured from directly from above. I had never done one before and I decided to try it for this challenge.

There’s a lot of rain in East Tennessee in the winter but we actually had four whole days of no rain! This is last night’s sunset. And of course today we are back to rain!

I love photographing mushrooms ~ especially with a macro lens. Each mushroom is unique in its’ own way.

Red roses are the traditional symbol for love, romance, and will always be a way to say “I love you.” The red rose has also reflected beauty and perfection. Deep or dark red roses can reveal an unconscious beauty.
On Friday we had snow in East Tennessee and I went out to play with my camera and macro lens.

The other day, in between rain showers, I went outside with my macro lens to practice my macro photography.

Fresh flowers are my guilty pleasure. Especially in the winter as they brighten up my kitchen. I usually buy them every week.
