A week ago I went to the Great Smoky Mountain Hot Air Balloon Festival in Townsend, Tennessee. The balloons were beautiful, set against the backdrop of the beautiful Smokies. As the sunset over the Smokies the balloons lit up! And I even got to go for a ride in one of the balloons and can now check that off my bucket list! #photography #hotairballoons #bucketlist #photographyblog #nightphotography
This flowering plant (which I thought was a weed) grows along the roads here in Tennessee. It is a member of the daisy family ~ who knew? It is also the national emblem of Scotland! #thistle #photography #blog #flowerphotograpy
Grassy Cove is an enclosed valley in Cumberland County, Tennessee. The valley has been designated as a National Natural Landmark because of its karst formation (sinkhole). It’s beautiful there and I have recently been there to take photos.
Sunday night I went to the Sparta Scenic Overlook to watch the sunset and to photograph it! #photography #sunset #blogger
This beauty grows wild alongside the roads across America. It gets its name from a legend that tells of Queen Anne of England pricking her finger with a drop of blood subsequently landing on the white lace (similar looking to the flower) in which she sewing.

Sunflowers symbolize adoration, loyalty and longevity. Much of the meaning of sunflowersstems from its namesake, the sun itself. … Sunflowers are known for being “happy” flowers, making them the perfect gift to bring joy to someone’s (or your) day.
These sunflowers were shot in Knoxville at the Forks in the River park where they plant fields and fields of them every other year.
I’ve always wondered why barns are red. From the Farmers Almanac: “Rust was plentiful on farms and because it killed fungi and mosses that might grow on barns, and it was very effective as a sealant. It turned the mixture red in color. When paint became more available, many people chose red paint for their barns in honor of tradition.” #barns #redbarn #whyarebarnsred #redpaint #honor #tradition #countryside #farms #grassycovetn #photograpy
I’m lucky that I’m not far from here and go visit these beauties anytime I want.
While photographing the hay bales I wondered over to the cows.
The other day I was out driving and stopped when I came upon a farm that looked so peaceful and tranquil. Luckily I had my camera and pulled over and took a bunch of photos. I was so incredibly happy doing this.
