I took a jaunt out to Monterey, Tennessee ~ a small little town here in Tennessee. Besides the Imperial Hotel, there’s a train depot and they are currently trying to revitalize the downtown area.

The Imperial Hotel
The Imperial Hotel was built in 1909 in Monterey, Tennessee by General John T. Wilder. Located near the train depot in the center of town, it was once a thriving hotel. But times have changed and the hotel shut down in 1958 after the trains stopped passenger service. The hotel was once considered luxurious but now just sits there. It was purchased in 1997 and there have been attempts to restore it to its old glory but there currently is a lawsuit between the hotel and the town and the train depot. So it just sits and sits. 
Such a shame.
