While traveling the backroads of Tennessee I have seen some amazing abandoned cars.
I have started Foto Friday for myself. My husband is in a golf league that day and I’m off from working my part-time job. I decided that I would take my camera and head out and explore! I’m mean why stay home and clean???? Today’s Foto Friday was spent here in my yard!
I took a jaunt out to Monterey, Tennessee ~ a small little town here in Tennessee. Besides the Imperial Hotel, there’s a train depot and they are currently trying to revitalize the downtown area.
I recently had the chance to go to the Crossville Dragway. It was very loud and it gave me an opportunity to try shooting at night.
The Imperial Hotel was built in 1909 in Monterey, Tennessee by General John T. Wilder. Located near the train depot in the center of town, it was once a thriving hotel. But times have changed and the hotel shut down in 1958 after the trains stopped passenger service. The hotel was once considered luxurious but now just sits there. It was purchased in 1997 and there have been attempts to restore it to its old glory but there currently is a lawsuit between the hotel and the town and the train depot. So it just sits and sits. Such a shame.
I was incredibly lucky to witness a momma deer nursing her fawn and was grateful that I had my camera with me!
A little over a week ago I took a flower photography workshop at Stanley’s Greenhouse. After the workshop, we were able to wander around and take photos. Here are some that I took there and from my garden.
There is something about a daisy that is just absolute perfection!
Last night was a beautiful sunset.
I’m very lucky that the previous owner of my house planted some beautiful irises.
